Kathleen Whitlow Named COO
Kathleen Whitlow has been named Chief Operations Officer for Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners. In her new role, she will be responsible for all aspects of operations at the 10 surgery centers affiliated with Blue Chip, and in developing new ASC businesses.
“It’s a pleasure to work with our surgeon-partners and the dedicated staff to create great environments for both patients and clinicians,” said Ms. Whitlow. “Though it’s a challenging time in the ASC industry, I firmly believe in our approach to optimizing operations and sharing best practices across the Blue Chip network.”

Ms. Whitlow has more than 25 years of experience in the medical/healthcare industry, and has held positions in executive management/administration, development, marketing, operations and strategic planning. She joined Blue Chip in April 2008.

Surgeon-Owners of Montgomery Surgery Center Partner with Blue Chip
Montgomery Surgery Center in Lansdale, Pennsylvania has engaged Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners as its exclusive management and business partner. A multi-specialty outpatient surgical center committed to the highest standards of patient care and comfort, Montgomery Surgery Center opened in 2002. About 2,400 patients are treated annually at the 8,000-square foot facility, which has two operating rooms and one treatment room.

Kesselring, M.D., an Ophthalmologic Surgeon, and President of the ownership group. "Working with Blue Chip ensures that the entire team can remain focused on providing excellent patient care, while our financial and operational management will be greatly enhanced."

The agreement between Montgomery Surgery Center and Blue Chip, under which the physicians retain an 80% ownership stake, was effective in May 2008.
SW Lincoln Surgery Center Now Open
Southwest Lincoln Surgery Center, a technologically advanced outpatient surgical center, opened in May 2009. The 7,500-square-foot facility features two operating rooms, and is located near the BryanLGH West Medical Plaza complex, in Southwest Lincoln. Surgeons will perform a range of procedures at the center, including neurosurgical, spine, pain management, ophthalmologic, orthopedic and plastic surgery.
